vacancy

The plan of having a lazy and lethargic holiday had obviously came to an end. From a princess, I became a maid. Or Cinderella is a better word to use?

Scrubbing the an-inch-thick dirt off the floor, washing off the slimy moss from the wall, cleaning the windows and cleaning the house had been my daily chores.

This prompted me to QUICKLY, URGENTLY to search for a potential candidate for the still-vacant-boyfriend place IMMEDIATELY and AS-SOON-AS-POSSIBLY. Since I am not perfect, so I would not ask for a perfect partner either.

I need someone that loves and put me in the top of his priority list. He is available for me ONLY 24/7.

Most importantly, he will insist of helping me to scrub every millimetre of my house and claim that it is good for his figure and muscle building. He will voluntarily cleaning the toilets and thank me for giving me a chance to love me in another way. His hobby will be doing the laundry.

It will be much better if he has a headache over managing his large sum of money in the bank account and beg me to spend some for him.

So, any taker?

popiah day

Talking about the best popiah in Taiping, it has to be the Lee-Bee-Shuang-made popiah!

It never crossed my mind that a teeny weeny popiah contains so much ingredients and need so much preparation work. No pain no gain.

It took me the entire morning to get all these done. Peeling, slicing, chopping, frying and cooking.

The first ever popiah from the famous cook!! A bit ugly though.

The improved version. Looked much better. Yum yum....

I am sure that my family will stay away from popiah for a loooooong time after stuffing themselves with all my popiahS.

on the highway

After two years and elevens months of getting the P driving license, yesterday was the first day I drove on highway.

Not so glamorous, and kind of shameful.

Not because of my dad trust me enough, but he had no choice. I wonder why my almost-perfect (or so I think) driving skills could not convince him to let me serve the task as a long distance driver. I just hit the pillar in the porch once. And perhaps added a few scratches to the car. But I am sure that does not matter much, right?

I got this chance, once in a century, because he can't drive at the moment. Too weak to drive. He walked like a drunken man. Knocking into innocent passers-by and the poor pillars too. How pitiful.

Well, not his fault actually. He was just way too sick. Way too ill. Way too dizzy. Way too hypotension. He had a shocking diastole value of 30+!! How scary.

With his poor health condition, he however dare not blink his eyes beside me, the brilliant driver, let alone dozing off. How pathetic.

Luckily and fortunately, very thing went so fine that he had had not even a strand of hair less. God bless. Both my family and the other road users. Haha...

I finally understand why people hate driving long distance. Not so much of the tiredness, but the soaring butt!!

memoires

Thank you Oxford! For the memories... :)

This is one of the snapshots I loved most. It was taken in Christ Church.
It has a very Harry-Potter feel.

You see what I mean? The Dining Hall.

A tree beside Lincoln College (the college I went for interview) library

Oxford street view.
A painting from the Ashmolean Museum.

Do you ever have your own coin?
Well, I have!!!

A scenery behind Christ Church, which my mum love best.

I believe all these will remain etched in my mind forever. Though I had been rejected.
So what? I had been there!

I suppose some goals are so worthy that it is glorious to fail.

Chocolate indulgence

Tata.....

This is my first ever self-made chocolate indulgence!!!

It looked more successful than I had expected!

Look tasty, right?
Other than the over-baked sponge cake, it tasted all right.
A chocolate indulgence for chocolate lovers...

A Proven Myth

Lazing around. I cannot find a better word to describe my life now. After all the travelling, I finally settled down at home living a pig's life (with drama, of course). Eat. Sleep. Watch drama. That's my daily routine.

One afternoon, when my family and I were having lunch, my mum talked about her bitter days when she was pregnant.

She was one of a kind pregnant mummy. There is no way that for her to eat. No matter what she ate, she will vomit out double the amount of what entered her mouth. When she drank one cup of water, she probably vomited out a JUG of sour-taste-diluted gastric juice. How pathetic.

Days were tough for her, no matter how much she desired to eat, she could not. Facing the music from my stern grandma, who thought my mum wanted to abuse the little baby in the womb, my mum felt more pressured. She tried every possible means to eat, to stop herself from vomiting, but to no avail. With my dad always busied himself with the family business, she found no one to cry to. She swallowed her tears, her sufferings. Helpless.
Reminiscing back, it is a miracle for her to live on until now because this process repeated for each of her pregnancies.

Hearing that tying a shoelace around the neck will prevent puking. She did. But she vomited. And that was the myth. She could only eat right after an injection from the doctor. And the period was brief. No injection, no eating. That was her fate. Her skin peeled due to dehydration.
The condition remained until the last two months of her pregnancy and that was when she started to stuffed herself with foods.

Now I understand why I have eating disorder, why I can't say "No" to food, and why I am so vulnerable to the temptation of food. I must had been starved too long in my mum's womb....
So, I assume, I am not to be blamed. Not my fault, right??

Okay, back to the myth.

My sis was snoring away on the bed in the afternoon. So excited about my own cooking, but unsatisfied that she had not tried, I went to "kacau" her.

My thunderous voice and my enthralled squeal had certainly reached her ears and woke her up. Reluctantly, she refused to move an inch. And I, mischievously, pressed lightly on her tummy. She warned me not to do so as it will trigger the urge to puke.

Guess what?

I ran to get my shoelace and told her that I wanted to tie around her neck. Before the shoelace approached her, she said she was fine. And the puking sensation gone completely!!!

It certainly works in some special case like this.

A day in the wild

I experienced the mightiness of small creatures, for instance, MOSQUITOES.
They can be the top paparazzi if they want to. They really tail you whenever you go ( a good spokesman for the DIGI "I will follow you" ). And then suck your blood when you least notice it. The moment you feel the itchiness, it is too late. All your exposed area will be so swollen and red.

Apart from the mosquitoes, everything was splendid.

Silver leaf monkeys with its golden baby, which will turn dark as its parents after a-few-month old.

This is when I discovered where did boys learn their hair-styling techniques from.

The mud skipper.

Great Egret

Chesnut-bellied Malkoha
Soaring eagle

And finally the glorious sunset
